Our client is seeking a Commercial Contracts Specialist to provide administrative and technical support to the GULF region for the organisation.

Accountability Areas:
Manage agreements/contracts in liaison with the Projects and Legal teams in line with the company's internally established policies and procedures.
* Review change proposals/instructions/change orders/variations pertinent to compliance with or deviations from agreement/contract terms and conditions.
* Assist in the analysis of priced changes proposals and other data to determine reasonableness of rates/prices,

* Assist in the negotiations of contractual terms and conditions to support Contracts and Claims Expert and other departments/business units in finalizing agreements/contracts .
* Liaise and coordinate with consultants and contractors in order to monitor compliance levels against agreement/contract requirements to ensure cost effective and timely delivery of their scope of services/works to best serve the needs and requirements of the company.
* Assist in the assessment of claims for cause, effect, entitlement, time and quantum with the support of the Projects team and advise on potential liability to the company.
* Review change proposals/instructions/change orders/variations pertinent to compliance with or deviations from agreement/contract terms and conditions.
* Assist in the analysis of priced changes proposals and other data to determine reasonableness of rates/prices, and contribute to the interpretation of the company's requirements under the agreement/contract provisions to facilitate the conclusion of value engineering proposals.

 
Job Requirements

 

* Bachelors' degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management
* minimum of 5 years in similar role
* 10 to 12 years experience with 5 years working in the GCC region as a Commercial Manager or Contracts Manager ;
* Chartered status with the RICS, CInstCES or CIOB or a master"s degree conferring equivalency to chartered status. Membership of the CIArb is preferred but not essential.
* Must be able to author contractual correspondence under a minimum of guidance, and must be able to demonstrate (if not a native speaker) fluency in the English language (written and spoken) to at least university level
