Our client is seeking a Project Accounting Expert to monitor and report on all aspects concerning project contracts that may have a financial impact on the company in order to ensure informed decisions are taken by the Finance team with regards to projects forecasting and funding.

Accountability Areas:
- Ensure that the company has sufficient funds available to meet the financial requirements of projects and allow the project managers to achieve milestones in line with pre-budgeted spending for activities
- Report on the short term and long term cash flow requirements to allow Project managers to better control the capital expenditure and ensure liquidity is maintained throughout project delivery to enable the company to realize its project in line with business plans
- Monitor, track and report on expenditures, variations, claims, budget overruns and potential liabilities to determine the current status of the projects undertaken by the company and enable action planning where necessary, in line with applicable policies and procedures
- Prepare cash flow reports and identify and evaluate variances to be communicated to management in order to promote better visibility of project expenses and costs and allow for better forecasting in the future
- Manage the preparation of timely and accurate month/year end financial reports (project cash flow reports, monthly financial report and a monthly project commitment list) to highlight the on-going status with respect to projects
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal control systems (i.e. SAP Reporting) and frameworks to ensure efficient and streamlined operations with respect to managing the financial aspect of projects
- Ensure that all financial reporting obligations are met in relation to submissions for funding and budgeting for contracts and any other initiative
- Work with project teams to ensure timely compliance with all project related policies and procedures in accordance with the roles and responsibilities required from each project team member and in line with set standards and protocols
- Manage and recommend all payments and expenditures related to project CAPEX contracts and actively be involved with setting the strategy and funding requirements for the respective projects
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and closing to the company's management, in line with applicable policies and procedures
- Liaise with Contract Managers, Project Managers and Consultants to remain up-to-date with site developments undertaken by the company

Job Requirements


Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field
- PMP Certification is preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

- Ability to draw conclusions from obtained information and advice management in their decisions

- Experience in Project Accounting / reporting in the civil construction
