They are looking for looking for an experienced Project manager to manage the engineering design and production of technical studies, whilst meeting cost, quality and deadline objectives. You will be supported by engineers and experts in Australia and other technical centres overseas.
Your responsibilities will include:
▬ Active and responsive provision of technical advice, direction, coordination and interface to the design teams both on civil engineering and sub-systems such as, power, signalling, SCADA and telecoms;
▬ Coordination of various internal contributors/subject matter experts (including designers) and external technical stakeholders (partners, railway infrastructure owner, etc.);
▬ Acting as the dedicated client contact, providing timely and professional advice and support throughout the project lifecycle;
▬ Managing the contractual aspects, including variations and amendments/additions, and monitoring the financial/cosy performance of the project;
▬ Providing support to the National Rail Lead in the preparation of tender responses;
▬ Participation in internal working groups to promote continuous improvement and innovation in technical expertise and service delivery.
You'll have a Bachelor degree (or professional qualification) in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related subject area.
(Post-graduate qualifications would be highly valued).
Your skills and experience will include:
▬ A demonstrable track record of achievement in a similar role, with at least 12 years" experience on major, heavy rail systems projects. (Knowledge of the Victorian railway environment will be advantageous);
▬ Extensive multidisciplinary engineering experience within a rail project environment including knowledge of key domains, systems integration practices and disciplines;
▬ The ability to prepare and present high quality technical and non-technical reports in professional and polished English;
▬ Ability to balance detail against broader strategic considerations/big-picture thinking and customer service
▬ Appropriate Australian working rights/Visa permissions but will consider overseas candidates
▬ Able to work in a multicultural environment with high quality and technical requirements
