The role provides RPEQ-certified electrical engineering advice and supports the client in maintaining a complete, controlled and technically defensible design and acceptance position.

This is a full-time role with initial contract term: 3 years
Extension options: up to 12 months.

This Job will close on 24 September 2026 at 2:00pm AEST.

Core scope for this role will include, but will not be limited to:
- Coordinate engineering activities and deliverables across requirements, concept and detailed design, procurement, development, testing, installation, commissioning and acceptance.
- Develop, review and maintain technical requirements, specifications, scope documents, interface requirements, design criteria and engineering management inputs.
- Provide specialist electrical engineering input for onboard power supply, protection, earthing, bonding, electromagnetic compatibility, cabling, connectors, equipment integration and modification interfaces.
- Review supplier designs, calculations, drawings, parts lists, installation instructions, test procedures, reports, concessions and technical submissions for compliance and completeness.
- Coordinate engineering interfaces between radio equipment, antennas, ETCS onboard equipment, train control and management systems, cab systems, power systems and rollingstock structures.
- Support technical evaluation of procurement responses and prepare clearly reasoned recommendations, clarifications and departures assessments.
- Maintain engineering actions, assumptions, interfaces, technical queries, decisions, non-conformances and design changes with clear ownership and traceability.
- Coordinate technical inputs from fleet owners, maintainers, operators, suppliers, State Lab personnel, assurance specialists and other engineering disciplines.
- Support design reviews, hazard reviews, constructability and maintainability reviews, test readiness reviews and acceptance reviews.
- Assess technical changes and concessions for safety, compliance, configuration, cost, schedule, operational and whole-of-life impacts.
- Provide site and test support during prototype installation, State Lab testing, train testing, fault investigation, commissioning and fleet rollout.
- Prepare RPEQ-certified engineering outputs and advice where professional engineering services are provided in Queensland.
