Our client is engaged on the TIRP-2 Project in Tanzania, and they are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Experts for the role of Business Specialist (6MM Man-months duration).
The Second Tanzania Intermodal and Rail Development Project (TIRP-2), supported by a US$200 million World Bank IDA credit, aims to rehabilitate Tanzania's metre-gauge railway (MGR) network, focusing on improving safety, climate resilience, and efficiency between Dar es Salaam and Isaka. Launched in July 2025, it covers 2,707 km of track.
Responsibilities:
* Develop a transition plan and business reorganization of TRC towards a Railway Open Access environment.
* Monitor progress in implementing the transition and provide tactical advice to overcome any shortcomings.
* To develop costing models that shall enable estimations and generating of cost trends and sensitivity analysis.
* Develop an Intermodal business model for TRC.
* Develop a financial cost modal to enable establishing business tariffs for open access and sole operation.
* Coordinate data collection from different directorate unit to enable TRC to make various business and development decisions.
* Develop TRC business process, output, outcome and impact level indicators for progress monitoring.
