Our client in Malaysia was awarded a contract in 2024 to refurbish the Malaysian Railway's fleet of 44 locomotives and 246 wagons leasing them back to the Malaysian Railways over a period of 25 years. As part of this agreement they will also be responsible for the scheduled maintenance of the fleet of leased locomotives and replacement wagons. They are now looking for a Maintenance Production Manager to look after the scheduling of preventative maintenance for locomotives and wagons being refurbished and leased back to Malaysian Railways by SMH Rail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful scheduling of preventative maintenance for locomotives and wagons being refurbished and leased back to Malaysian Railways
- To evaluate the Project Data and to create suitable production schedules.
- To estimate the number of materials, equipment and workforce required for production.
- To coordinate production operations and workflow in accordance with materials, labor, and equipment availability
- To schedule shifts according to production needs from time to time.
- To monitor the project's progress and to ensure that it is according to the schedule / plan.
- To compile status, performance reports and submit them to the management as per plan.
- To recommend solutions to reduce production costs (improve process & quality).
- To Plan and Prioritize operations that ensure max. performance with min. delay.
- To address and resolve issues promptly to reduce delays in production.
- To collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff as a team.
- To ensure that all staff, materials and machineries are always available whenever required.
- To collect and evaluate data from the production floor and team's performance.
