Our client is seeking an Executive Director, Project Integration to lead all integration functions (Integration Controls, Systems Integration, Technical Integration, Operational Integration). Interfaces with the Wave (Rail) Project Leadership Team, Queensland Rail Integration Director and other Queensland Rail representatives (alignment of QR operational and technical requirements), Strategic Rail PMO (portfolio-level integration), and portfolio/network integrator (strategic alignment).

The Executive Director, Project Integration is responsible for leading the Integration Team and serving as the central authority for integration efforts across the Wave (Rail) project. This role provides strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination to ensure that integration outcomes are technically and commercially sound, operationally viable, and aligned with the Wave (Rail) integration strategy. 
The key objective of the Integration team is to ensure safe operation of passenger services and delivery of all Project Sponsor Requirements by 2032. 

Core scope for this role will include, but will not be limited to: 
- Lead the Integration Team, ensuring alignment with the Wave (Rail) integration strategy and the integration focus areas (and any network integration strategies which may be developed to support broader network integration).
- Provide project-wide leadership and coordination to achieve a comprehensive and integrated delivery approach.
- Foster a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach by working closely with all members of the project team and key project stakeholders.
- Engage with Queensland Rail, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), Sunshine Coast Regional Council (and other relevant stakeholders) and delivery package teams to ensure coordinated outcomes.
- Build and sustain integrator capability consistent with ‘best practice' integration on major rail infrastructure projects (people, tools, standards, and continuous improvement).
- Mentor and develop members of the team, including direct and indirect reports. 

 
Job Requirements

 

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (engineering, project management, business and so on). 
- 15+ years' relevant demonstrated experience working on major rail infrastructure projects (>$500 million)
- Proven leadership experience in a major projects environment (including managing teams in complex environments)
- Demonstrated experience leading systems integration, assurance and/or operational interfaces and activities for major rail projects 
- Familiarity with Queensland Rail standards, specifically MD-23-1 and MD-21-247. 
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with an ability to engage effectively across delivery partners, contractors, and stakeholders.
