Our client is seeking Rolling Stock Technical Advisors (2x) to support activities in Brisbane, Queensland.
This job closes on 4th November at 2:00pm (Brisbane time) and contract duration is estimated to be 2 years from January 2026 to January 2028.
The Technical Advisor role is required to provide strong extensive knowledge and experience of the testing, certification and acceptance processes for major rollingstock modifications with the proven ability to develop and lead a strong team culture and united approach across the contract and delivery parties.
The Technical Advisor role is critical in successfully delivering the NGR ETCS and ATO/PSD projects and as such the success of the SEQ ETCS and CRRDA Tunnel critical projects.
The Technical Advisor role will support the Delivery Team, Project Managers, Project Delivery Director and wider teams across the PRS Branch.
Technical advisors for the NGR Projects are required to:
• Develop, manage and implement high quality and robust project plans in accordance with the agreed scope of the ETCS and ATO/PSD projects to delivery on time and to budget.
• Identify, evaluate, monitor and manage strategic risks using appropriate mitigation strategies and develop opportunities to ensure project success. Support meeting structure, processes and KPIs for internal and external project activities, to facilitate successful project delivery.
• Facilitate and support cross-function collaboration between the contract parties to ensure best outcomes for the project.
• Use extensive knowledge and experience of the testing, certification and acceptance processes to ensure high level of quality and completeness along with identifying and leading efficiency improvement opportunities.
• Work with the project controls team to ensure timely delivery of regular and ad hoc monthly reporting to internal stakeholders on project progress, with particular emphasis on actual and potential variations and adjustment events to cost, time or quality.
• Work with the Delivery team and CPO teams for the contractual acceptance of each train against EAD and APAD requirements.
• Support the CRRDA Tunnel integration testing.
• Support the transition phases for SEQ ETCS testing and into revenue service.
• Carry out dilapidation inspections on trains entering the project and provide a strong presence at Wulkuraka throughout the different stages (modification, testing and Passenger ICEC) through to train acceptance, identifying and managing key risks and opportunities
