Our client is bidding for work on the Dubai Metro Stations Flood Protection Measures And Operational Headway Improvement (Package 2) and they are seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Testing & Commissioning (Civil) Engineer.   

 

Job Summary: The Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer - Civil is responsible for overseeing and executing the testing and commissioning of civil infrastructure works associated with the Traction Power Supply System (TPSS). This includes substations, switchgear buildings, control rooms, foundations, cable trenches, earthing systems, and associated civil assets. The role ensures that all civil components are completed, inspected, tested, and handed over in accordance with design specifications, safety regulations, and client requirements (e.g., RTA, DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence).

 

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinate and conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning inspections for all civil components of TPSS buildings (substations, switchgear rooms, foundations, etc.).

* Verify that all civil works are completed as per approved IFC drawings, specifications, and quality standards before testing electrical equipment installation begins.

* Oversee and inspect civil-related infrastructure supporting mechanical and electrical installations (e.g., HVAC foundations, wall openings, cable trenches, earthing pits).

* Manage the testing of civil works, including waterproofing integrity, concrete strength, structural alignment, and architectural finishes.

* Support electrical and mechanical teams during installation and integrated system testing by ensuring all civil prerequisites are in place.

* Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure compliance with Dubai authorities (DM, RTA, DEWA, Civil Defence).

* Prepare and maintain detailed test plans, reports, checklists, method statements, and punch lists.

* Liaise with third-party testing agencies, consultants, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.

* Lead the closeout of civil-related snag items and ensure successful handover of facilities for energization and final commissioning.

* Participate in integrated system testing (IST) and support functional testing involving multi-disciplinary teams.
