Our client is bidding for work on the Dubai Metro Stations Flood Protection Measures And Operational Headway Improvement (Package 2) and they are seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Lead Architect.
Job Summary: A lead architect is a senior-level professional who is responsible for overseeing and guiding the design and development of complex architectural projects. The lead architect works with a team of architects, engineers, and other professionals to develop the conceptual design for a project and then leads the team through the design development and construction phases. They are also responsible for communicating with clients and stakeholders to ensure that their design vision aligns with their needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the architectural design of TPSS-related buildings including substations, auxiliary buildings, control rooms, and ventilation structures.
* Ensure architectural designs meet client, operator (e.g., RTA), and regulatory standards.
* Oversee concept, schematic, and detailed design phases.
* Integrate electrical and mechanical requirements (e.g., transformer layout, heat ventilation) into architectural planning.
* Work closely with civil, electrical, structural, and MEP teams to coordinate architectural solutions.
* Manage design interfaces with urban planners, utilities, landscape architects, and public realm designers.
* Participate in design coordination meetings and multi-disciplinary workshops.
* Ensure quality of materials, finishes, and architectural detailing to meet Dubai's aesthetic standards.
* Support permitting and authority approval processes for architectural submissions.
* Report on design progress, risks, and coordination issues to the Engineering/Project Manager.
