Our client is bidding for work on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai HSR and they are looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Engineering Manager (MEP and Utilities).
Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager (MEP and Utilities) is responsible for overseeing the design, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems and utility diversions and installations across the Dubai HSR Project. This includes managing the integration of MEP services in stations, tunnels, viaducts, depots, and ancillary facilities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, authority requirements, and international railway standards. HSR design and implementation experience is preferred for all Technical Roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage design and technical reviews of MEP systems and utility works across all project phases.
- Oversee integration of MEP services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, etc.) with civil and systems engineering.
- Coordinate and supervise utility relocation/diversion works in compliance with Dubai authority requirements (DEWA, RTA, DM, etc.).
- Approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and method statements related to MEP and utilities.
- Ensure alignment of MEP and utility installations with rail operational requirements and safety standards.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination among MEP, civil, architectural, and systems teams.
- Provide technical support during construction, responding to RFIs and resolving on-site issues.
- Monitor progress of MEP and utility works to meet quality, schedule, and safety targets.
- Liaise with government authorities to secure NOCs, approvals, and regulatory compliance.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems and utilities.
